Funny that the privileged son of a wealthy NY doctor would grow up to be the ultimate tough guy in films.
I know a lot of people like him in The Maltese Falcon, High Sierra, The Big Sleep, The African Queen, etc. But for me, the ultimate Bogie film is, and always has been, Treasure of the Sierra Madre. His acting in that film was his very best, imo, and it was matched by that of his co-stars John Huston and Tim Holt. It's one of those films that makes you a better person for having seen it.
