I took these photos last month in Toronto. These two-tone Oxfords were worn by Bela and were part of his personal wardrobe. He is wearing the shoes in the photograph behind them. They are on display at the Bata Shoe Museum, one of my favourite museums in the world. Sorry the photo is so dark, the museum kindly lets visitors take photos but request that they don't use flash. I hope you enjoy them. The building itself is very interesting and there are a huge number of shoes on display from all over the world, most of which date back hundreds of years. There are shoes worn by Queen Victoria, John Lennon, Elvis, James Stewart, Judy Garland, Elton John and many, many others. There are beautiful shoes from the 1920s-1940s, medieval pieces, moccasins... plus Napoleon Bonaparte's socks! It is a fascinating and unique museum and if you have the opportunity I highly recommend visiting. www.batashoemuseum.ca

Great pix! I love oxfords myself, but I'm probably too conservative to go with black & white. Maybe oxblood & brown?

Thanks Woofy. I was quite overwhelmed to see these shoes, not only because they belonged to Bela but also because they are stunning shoes. My partner has a sartorial obsession. He wears Oxfords most days and though I would love it if he wore a black and white two-toned pair, his taste is more conservative than mine. Oxblood and brown sound fabulous to me.

These are so snazzy! When out of his Dracula cape, Bela always came across as a very fashionable chap. They look quite long and narrow, did Bela have big feet?

Yes, Mrs V, the shoes are really long. When I was looking at his shoes I remember glancing down at my little size 4 1/2 shoes and thinking Bela's feet must have been huge! I meant to post this photo ages ago, I took it on the same day. It shows a pair of Jimmy Stewart's shoes and a gorgeous little pair of boots that were worn by Judy Garland.

I love Judy's shoes. I was looking at something very similar for myself, recently. DIdn't think they would match my usual attire though
