Good idea for a thread, Mrs. V.! I think I most identify with Vindecco because I'm the baby in my family and while I don't get beat up (I used to get spanked), I get ragged on a lot by my older brother and sister, lol!

Vint Glade (obvious I know). He makes far too many mistakes, he has A LOT of trouble expressing his real feelings and attempts to hide behind snarky comments- or even ends up indulging in bad behavior to hide what he feels or to alter situations that he cannot control. I have never acted in such a criminal or bad manner, the way that Vint did, I am too timid for that! And I also know that in the end it is not only wrong but will inevitably not change a single thing. But I do know and understand how he feels. He is on the outside looking in, and isn't accepted at all, even BEFORE he has actually done anything wrong (Emily's comment about not being able to stand him comes to mind). I have been there and I know the feeling.

I would say Sidney Wheeler. I like books (to say that I am an avid reader is putting it mildly), he must like books (aside from forging them) so yes, I would say the handsome, bespectacled Sidney .

I have a habit of asking questions but neverr answering them, lol. First of all, the actual characters Dwight plays are not really sympathetc especially on paper- do we really want to see ourselves in them? It's only because as a performer Dwight projected a form of pathos onto these roles, we can sympathise and perhaps identify with them. Looking back to when I was in a child, I see a bit of Fritz in me- possibly because I was a bit too eager to please some people. I think that's why I like Fritz, it's not the whole creepy hunchback thing, it's the excitement he has or believes he has a friend in Henry, even though he's little more than an assistant and acts subserviant, I think he see's him as a friend and looks for approval especially when he finds the hanging man, he's so gleeful and proud of himself. When Henry initially explains part of the experiment to him, he's excited, hanging off his every word- even though I doubt he really knows what's going on. However when the Elizabeth, Victor and Dr Waldman interupt procedings Fritz tries to do as his master bids by telling them to go away but the way Dwight performs this with a self-righteous pout, is more than just him doing as he is told, it's almost like he wants to be the one, the only one helping Henry and sometimes I see his torture of the monster is a bit of petty jealousy. I'm probably reading too much into the Fritz character. These days I see myself a bit like Vindecco. Not getting slapped about or anything but making do, trying to get along without too much hassle and even giving the occasional smile

I can never say Vint is bad, pathetic and driven to do badness but not bad.

I don't think that you're reading too much into Fritz at all Mrs. V. Your answer is excellent, and being a method actor I am certain that Dwight would have considered all of these angles before undertaking the role. I also agree that it was his sheer talent that gave pathos to the characters that he portrayed, making them more sympathetic than they were actually intended to be.

I guess I'd say Renfield. Because he went in trying to do the right thing and was driven batshit crazy by his employer.

I felt this way so much I quit my job a couple weeks ago. My last day is on Friday, and I do not have another job. I'm taking some time off. I think I saved my sanity just in the nick of time.
