Actually just talking about Rik Mayall on another thread made me think of my complete and utter devotion to Blackadder.  I love Rowan Atkinson in it, IMHO one of the most talented comedians of his generation. |

I love Blackadder. Pure genius! Rik Mayall was fabulous as Flashheart - and yummy! It was wonderful to see him with Adrian Edmondson in Blackadder goes forth - as a teenager I was glued to the TV any time The Young Ones or Blackadder were on. I got to see Rowan on the stage in London when he was performing in Oliver and it was overwhelming, he's incredible. And Stephen Fry is just adorable. |

Violet, you are so lucky to have seen Rowan as Fagin. I heard he was brilliant. In fact that production has had a lot of good Fagin's.
My parents and two younger brothers saw Rik Mayall perform in Glasgow, in a Noel Coward play and they said he was brilliant. It was a matinee, with a small audience but he apparently was soaked in sweat and was working his backside off. They were really impressed.
