I rarely take to anyone that's actually from present day but I really love this guy and (my God) he's born the same decade as me.

It's hard for me to some up why I adore him using a few youtube clips. First of all I think he's funny (a GSOH always wins my heart), I tend to agree with the majority of what he says, he's intelligent and when he's himself comes across as a down to earth, nice bloke. I think I liked him since I saw him in a sitcom called Peep Show, where his character, Mark does some awful things and has bad thoughts but somehow I can identify with him. He's also unashamedly middle-class and nerdy, there's not enough of that.

None of you will know who I am taking about unless you live in the UK but I just thought I would share.

Thanks for sharing- I agree that I have never heard of him but I will definitely check him out now that you have discussed him here. He does seem to be very funny:)

I'm much the same as you are- I rarely take to anyone in the present day. I did twice and both times were disappointing and I left both fandoms wondering why the hell I became involved in the first place *LOL* So it's always the past for me too.

Thank you for saying that I am free to share my other fandoms here. I have a few that I enjoy, but only one other than Dwight that I am actively involved with on a daily basis and those who know me at LJ already know what I am referring to and I may share it here, but I'm sure the members will be tired of hearing about it if I do:)
