I found this other day and thought I woud share. Unsurprisingly it doesn't tell us anything new about Dwight and yeah it's contains yet another brief rehash of Dwight's life, but I think it's one of the finest reviews of DFLL. It's honest without being gushing. I also like the fact it mentions the heiress that promoted Dwight. I always wondered who she was and if she was only interested in his talents on stage. Even back then, I think Dwight was attracting the ladies.

Do you have a link to the review?
I have wondered that too, if her efforts were completely altruistic or if she was hoping to have him for herself. IMHO, I don't think he would have been into that, he was a religious person and he was very much in love with Laura.
Don't forget, Fast Company on TCM Sept. 11!

Whoops! Too busy thinking of naughty ladies after sweet Dwight! immortalephemera.com/13664/dwight-frye-last-laugh/Had Dwight actually met Laura at this point, MM. I can't remember. Even if he hadn't, I doubt he would be someone that would be easily seduced. I get the impression he was quite straight-laced and probably would find a woman throwing herself at him quite vulgar, whether he was attached or not.
