A few later images from Lewis Wickes Hine, an artist that clearly believed that the world was in need of social reform. His early work often captured five year old children working in unsafe conditions in factories. However between wars, the visual arts movement in the USA wanted to focus on the benefits of Industrial Capitalism, showing workers immersed in a new machine age. Hine stood out as from 1907 he wanted to "portray the human side to industry".
