I have been looking forward to seeing this film for a long time. Sadly the release date keeps getting pushed back but it looks as though it will be out some time next year. The film is based on the life and death of Rudolph Valentino and is set in 1926, the year he died. The film is by Vladislav Kozlov, who plays the role of Valentino in the film. One of the reasons I am excited to see the film is that one of my favourite actresses, Isabella Rossellini stars in it, playing Gabriella Guglielmi, Valentino's mother. It also features Galina Jovovich (Milla Jovovich's mother) as Alla Nazimova. It is a silent film and features a mixture of both colour and black and white scenes. Being a huge Valentino fan I am really excited about this film. I'm a little concerned that it may pay too much attention to certain Hollywood rumours surrounding Valentino but the film was a labour of love for Vlad Kozlov and I am looking forward to seeing his film. Here is the teaser trailer of the film - www.silentlifefilm.com/Is anyone else looking forward to seeing this film?

Thank you so much for posting this, Mrs V. I had heard Kashmiri Love Song before, O.K, I admit it, it's on my iPod , but I hadn't seen this video or heard that introduction. The photos towards the end are so lovely. Apparently, on hearing these recordings Valentino joked, "there goes my opera career". I think they're sweet but mostly I love the songs because they are the only recordings of his voice in existence. One can definitely detect his Italian accent but, had he survived to witness the transition to talkies, I don't think it would have hindered his career. He had aspirations of directing too. All that talent was gone far too soon. Thanks again for posting this!

Great stuff. I'd always imagined Valentino as a tenor. Nice to hear he's a baritone. Crosby has nothing to worry about, however.
