I love this thread! Wonderful photos, the ones of Bogie and Hitchcock are sweet. More Bogie photos and a couple with beautiful Lauren.

Animals appear in quite a few Hollywood publicity shots and sometimes nothing more than a prop, women use them to look cute or sophisticated and the men try to look macho as if their about to go off on a hunting expedition. You can tell thos who genuinely love their pets. I knew Lauren Bacall loved her dogs because I remember her affectionally talking about them on Paul O'Grady a few years ago. However you can see how much Bogie and Betty loved their pets from the look of joy in their faces. I wonder if Peter played with their dogs when he visited. While Valentino is not actually looking at his dogs, I can tell he likes them from the way he id furiously grasping at their leads. "Stay, don't attack the man with the camera!" I noticed their was a dog in his car photo too

I missed Lauren Bacall on Paul O'Grady's show. I would have loved to have seen it, I've liked her since I was little. Yes, Rudy adored his animals. There are so many photos of him with his beloved dogs. He died tragically young at 31, not long after some of these photos were taken, and it's heartbreaking thinking about how much his dogs must have missed their kind and loving master. OK, that's it for Valentino, I promise

I can't always recognise Valentino in many photos, his appearance seemed to alter a bit through the years. I love the Hitchcock picture, such a sweet dog.

James Stewart and dog and reading a poem about his dog Beau on Johnny Carson. I seem to remember him reading the same poem on Wogan years later.
