This is probably my favourite shop of all time. I spent many hours here in my teans when I was into the 1960's. My sister spent a fortune on a stinking Afghan Coat. It's more retro than Vintage, but one can still find the occasional bargain here. The owner was had the largest collection of underpant in the world. Not sure if that is still the case. www.mrbenretroclothing.com/

This place looks amazing, Mrs V! It's been over a decade since I was last in Glasgow, too long, I'm putting this store on my list for my next visit.

It used to be in this amazing Edwardian shopping mall called the Virginia Galleries, which had a really good classic movie shop (this was in the days before ebay) where you could buy vintage movie magazines, rare videos and photos. There were a few good vintage shops, including Mr Ben's and a Biba love store. I just read there were a couple of "fetish" stores there, but I must have been totally oblivious to those or clueless because I have no memory of those. Sadly the whole lot was demolished because the Glasgow Underground was right underneath it and it damaged the foundations of the building. It looks like a dump to most people, but I spent many a happy Saturday with my pocket money in this place.
