Great photos Violet. Is it me or does Valentino have an air of Noel Coward in that photo? I don't know much about Conrad Veidt and have only seen The Cabinet of Dr Caligari, All Through the Night and of course Casablanca. I have been trying to get a hold of "The Man Who Laughs" for a while now.

Wondeful photos Liz. It's so sweet that Donald and Gene were friends for so long. My son is now very much into Singing in the Rain. He saw it for the first time on Friday and has been dancing along to all the songs ever since. Here are some candids of my boy Gene: And here's two of my favorite people, Gene and Donald O'Connor! Sigh...so handsome...

Mrs V, that is absolutely adorable! He's a lucky boy! Liz, your photos of Gene are fabulous. I love the one of Gene and Donald, so sweet. I found this photo from 1943 - Liz, the second row might be of interest to you, especially the gentleman on the right i.imgur.com/9i5lM.jpgYou can click the photo to enlarge it.

These are wonderful, Mrs V!
Bette Davis looks so beautiful in that photo and Peter Lorre looks handsome and sexy, as always. I hadn't seen any of them before so thank you very much for sharing them with us.
Between these lovely photos and yesterday's match I'm really missing playing tennis, it's been far too long.

I think the shot of Bette is from Now Voyager, if memory serves she plays tennis in that. It's nice to see Peter so active and without a top. I'd love to be able to play tennis. I tried as a kid, especially when Wimbledon was on (don't we all) but when I went on an actual tennis court I was useless. They're bigger than they look ;D

Alec Guinness and Maureen O' Hara during the making of Our Man in Havana. Oh yeah and there's Castro! Is it me or does he look a bit like Liam Neeson here?
