New things on the forum

First and foremost the new forum URL is

rarehollywoodvintage.proboards.com



I have now managed to lock the forum so only members can see everything. It will be like this until i redesign and change the forum URL, which hopefully be roughly done for this weekend, For the first time, I have gone through the various design codes on proboards so you may have noticed a few changes, like the categories are now divided.

One thing that will hopefully be a benefit to members is that it should be now easier for members to post an image. If you click on reply, you will see just above the reply box "Add Image to Post". So you can post images straight from your computer files rather than having to have an online photo account or fiddling around with the IMG thing. The images aren't huge but I think it is an improvement for anyone that finds the usual system annoying.

Let me know if there are any other wee things I can look for to improve the forum functions.

There are two new skins been added to the list, both pretty generic, I'm afraid. One is a B&W celebration of Vintage Hollywood and the other a more colourful collage of old film magazines. I'll try and do more skins when I get the time, though the forum will be soon turning to a v5 format so they might get a bit higgilety piggilety... don't know if that's how you spell it... might see if I can add a dictionary to the reply box.

There is also a candle option in the General board. It's a bit like the rememberance candles, so Members are free to use them whenever.

As you can see I have rearranged the whole forum and added the categories and boards as discussed. Nothing has been removed. Threads are just placed elsewhere. If anyone has any more suggestions for categories. please let the admin team know.

I'm absolutely loving the changes, it all looks wonderful!
I'm using the new B & W vintage Hollywood skin, love it.

The candle option is a really nice idea.

I was thinking, in the Vintage Lifestyle category it might be nice to have an area for people to post links to their favourite vintage shops or webstores. Or perhaps there is an existing section you would recommend posting this information in? It's all so lovely and I just wouldn't want to post something in the wrong place!

No that's a good idea, as long as we don't get a load of individuals just wanting to advertise. There are actually a few things I would want so I'd probably bracket it into the same thread. Just trying to word it correctly.... Hmm...
