I was wondering if anyone has come across this You Tube subscriber "Poplarhouse"? They have posted a video in tribute to Dwight. I know I haven't seen all the videos on Dwight yet, but Buddy has a long narration on the video that is fascinating. Thought you guys might want to check it out. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7J1XkDfh2N0

My blushes, Watson! Carrie posted a comment on my video and made me aware of this board. I so glad you enjoyed it. Buddy was at the Monster Bash twice, and his comments are edited from his two q&a sessions. He was a treat, and is greatly missed. This June, the "Face Is Familiar" will salute Gale Sondergaard. Any fans?

Welcome to the board Poplarhouse! ;D I'm flattered you have joined the board and once again I would like to say many thanks for creating such a great video. It must have been wonderful to have met Buddy and hear all his recollections abut his Dad. I have to admit I don't know much about Gale Sondergaard, I know her husband was one of the Hollywood Ten and I believe I have seen her in The Letter , but other than I'm a bit clueless

Thanks. Gale is dear to classic horror film fans because of her roles as the Spider Woman, once as Sherlock Holmes's adversary and once in a separate film. She also was the housekeeper in The Black Cat (1941) and the Hope version of The Cat and the Canary. Gale's older sister was primarily a radio actress and a regular on Arch Obler's shows.
Buddy was great, and I know he had a good time at the Bash. I wonder if any forum members are close enough to Pittsburgh to attend in June?

Only person I know from Pittsburgh is Gene Kelly, but he's dead. And one of my friends, but she's not into classic horror.
As for me, I live in San Diego, California. And you know how expensive plane tickets are these days.

Ha! Gene would be welcome, even now: this is a horror convention, you know! ;D

Hi Poplarhouse. I'm so glad to see you have joined the Dwight Club. ;D Your video tribute to Dwight was amazing. I'm so envious that you got to meet Buddy. I'm in Minnesota so I'm afraid that the Pittsburgh convention is not going to happen for me either.

I just watched the video with sound. What a beautiful tribute, I was left teary-eyed. Dwight is so very deserving of this honor;a wonderful actor, and a wonderful man .

Glad you enjoyed it. I wish he could have lived long enough to have attended the Bash, but at least we have the legacy of his films.

Buddy's closing words in this video truly moved me and echoed what I have felt about Dwight and other actors of that generation. So many suffered from typecasting and I honestly believe if they realised the power of film, that they would be remembered for decades, I think some of the pains and frustrastions they may have felt might have eased a little, if that makes sense.
