Somewhere else on the pics forum, Liz posted a black & white image of the lad himself from the 1931 Maltese Falcon. She said "she could stare at it for hours!" Well, Liz, see if you prefer Wilmer with a dash of colour. BTW - this is the best result you can hope for with a still frame - unless it's from a BluRay. Actual movie stills give much better results!

I can't believe the brilliant detail in this. I agree with MM the eyes are stunning. I've always loved this image and would never would have believed that it was possible to improve it but you've proved me wrong.

Thank you for the nice word, ladies. If any of you have a favourite pic of Dwight you'd like colourized, send me a PM and I'll be glad to do it for you and post it back here. Ideally, the image should be of good quality and be of a workable size. This image was copied and saved from Liz's original and blown up 50% larger. As I mentioned, movie stills are best as well as still frames from BluRay videos.
Some black & white images need a lot of "cleaning up" done to them before colourization is applied. For those who may be interested, there are several different ways and methods which people use to colourize b & w images. There are also several programmes which claim to do the whole thing with just a few mouse clicks. One such programme is called, "Recolored". Sorry to say that I wouldn't recommend any of them.
I do it the hard way - via Photoshop - which involves any number of adjustable layers, masks, a fairly good sense of colour...and the patience of a Saint! I also have a good working knowledge of a process called "Dodge & Burn", which is totally essential for anyone doing high-end photo retouching, colouring, or photo manipulation. And as a final thought - there is always a tendency to over-saturate with the colourization process. Before I do my final save, I always put my image through the hue/desaturation area and in all cases I've noticed a saturation drop of at least 10% gives that final realistic look that I strive for.
It's a great achievement to hear that I've pleased someone with my efforts...so please, girls, dig out those images of your sexy Dwight and let's see what we can do. Thanks again for your kindness...Stevie xxx

The same one on the cover. He also had a profile view in that sitting, that's my favorite .
