Basically, to get in the seasonal mood I thought members could share their favourite Christmas music, TV or Movie clips.

Excellent video, lovely song and really fits with Nativity Story. I watched that film last year and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Not really into biblical movies, but it was very well done.

I absolutely love old-fashioned music boxes. They have a full, rich and highly unique sound, like that of an orchestra, compared to the cheap "tinny" sound that they have now. These songs have always and will always remind me of Christmas. They are pure magic.
And of course, this needs no explanation.

Thanks Mrs Vindecco!!! Really glad you enjoyed the post! I agree, Nativity Story was well done- my family and I usually watch it around this time of year, so I'm always reminded of Christmas when I see it:D And Away in a Manger is just wonderful Celtic Woman have done quite a few carols, ALL worth listening to lol:D Aren't they amazing?! And Luna, you're so right about the old fashioned music boxes! I had never realised it before, but after listening to my newer (and budget...) one to compare, it was definitely more resonant- and so beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing!

In my ideal world, if I had a huge house, I'd like to have a music box playing while my family roasted chestnuts by the fire... not that I like chestnuts, my Dad once decided to roast them on a three bar fire and I burnt my mouth, but I guess it's an idealised image of the season. I weep every year at The Snowman. Next year it will be 30 years since it was first broadcast but it's still achieves the same result. My hubby says it's not known in the States, but I said it definately was. I know the Charlie Brown Christmas and Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer are considered classics in the US but I seem to remember Charlie Brown was broadcast once and Rudolf has never been shown here, so The Snowman is our annual tradition every christmas eve/ day.

The snowman is known here Mrs. V, although I am not certain how well. It played on public television, and I watched public television, as compared to most kids who didn't. But I do know that they sold snowman dolls at the mall a few years back, so I think that it is pretty well known by most people here, not just me.
I'd LOVE to own a music box such as the one shown and heard in the video that I posted, but they aren't easy to locate and they are VERY pricey when you do.
