OK, I'm only mentioning this because of the The Ballad of Dwight Fry but Mark Lawson is currently interviewing Alice Cooper on BBC4 which hopefully be repeated this week. The Lawson interviews are brilliant and in-depth but highly doubt Dwight will be mentioned but I am recording it, just in case plus it should be interesting.

I watched the interview and there was not much for us I'm afraid. The song was mentioned and an extract played when asked about including the importance of including older, classic material in the shows, commenting that The Ballad of DF was nor a radio hit but a huge stage hit and it's staged slightly different on every tour.
He also taked about his love of Horror movies, playing Freddy Krugar's Dad in 1991 and his work in the up and coming Tim Burton version of Dark Shadows (I know some members were fans of the original).
He also mentioned his childhood love of the old horror movies and how he'd spend all Saturday at the cinema watching them. He also mentioned that he had been asked to put a combination of his favourite Horror movies together (might check that out), said that one of his faves was The Haunting and that he liked finding the old, forgotton ones.

Well, even with no specific mention of Dwight, the interview sounded very interesting and I respect his choices in horror, based on "The haunting" alone. That is an excellent film. I also agree that discovering old, forgotten films is always a treat. For me, I love discovering such films in all forms, not only horror. I have some mixed feelings toward the "Dark shadows" film. The show was so original and over the top- I don't think that anyone will be able to touch it let alone surpass it, but I do like some of Tim Burton's work and if anyone can come close to capturing at least some of the magic of the original I suppose that it would be him.
Thanks for sharing the interview highlights Mrs. V:)

Alice likes The Haunting? Excellent taste ! I love the classic Dark Shadows, Jonathan Frid is the only Barnabas for me ! It would be interesting to see, though, how Tim Burton's version turns out.
