Hi Violet, I did a little digging on the Hustling for Health photo and apparently the actor is James Parrott. The film is listed in IMDB and he's listed as "Man missing his train". He was the younger brother of Charley Chase. He died very young too - only 41. I also found a clip on you tube - www.youtube.com/watch?v=00CnjrKbm5A It's only a few seconds into the clip that they show him. I can see how he would be mistaken for Dwight. Something with the eyes and mouth.

I'm really curious where the shot of Dwight above Vindecco is from?

Hi Limey, that's great! Thanks so much for clearing that up and for all the info! I noticed a lot of buzz online about Dwight being in the film. It's also mentioned in a review of the film on IMDB. It appears that the notes with the DVD release stated that it was Dwight. I can kinda see how they believed it was but it didn't feel quite right to me. Thanks again. I believe the photo above Vindecco is Dwight as Haldine in Submarine Alert. Sadly, I haven't seen that film yet so I'd love it if someone could confirm that for us. I love that pic!

Limey, that photo is from Submarine Alert. The whole film is on YouTube. I quite enjoyed it.

I think I scanned the Vindecco photo... I got it from the card collection. Yes that's Haldane. Probably the best shot of Dwight in that film actually. I don't mind Submarine Alert. It's the perfect example of how Dwight's voice deepened in the latter part of his career.

It's the perfect example of how Dwight's voice deepened in the latter part of his career. It was probably all the ciggies. Dwight was so gorgeous in his early forties. I hope you don't mind me posting Vindecco, I just adore him. I stumbled upon the photo on a Rita Hayworth website.

Re: "Hustling for Health" I just took a look at the film, and this is a from very brief scene at the beginning. Stan is running to catch a train and bumps into another man; they both fall to the ground and miss their ride. In this frame grab, dwight is shaking his fist and yelling after Stan as he runs off. Buddy had thought that his dad worked in several silents between plays, but "Night Bird" was the only one he knew about. Thanks for the detective work, Violet.

Dear Heavens *SWOONS*.
Dwight was like a fine wine, he just got more handsome as he got older. His voice too, oh dear Lord *fans self*.
Imagine him whispering sweet nothings to Laura with that voice...
