James Stewart is one of my favorite actors, and Harvey is one of my favorite movies. Another one I probably would never have even seen if it wasn't for my wife. She's responsible for me liking a great deal of movies, all of which are great.
She taught me that sometimes, it's Ok to watch something that isn't horror...I was shocked.

My husband had a similar attitude when I first met him. He was into horror movies and a lot of (I would say cheesy) 80's action movies. Then I showed him there actually were movies made before The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, some of which were quite good and that black and white is actually watchable and subtitles don't distract the viewer from the actual movie. Funnily enough it was a few James Stewart performances that seemed to convert him, though he is still watch Harvey. It is on his Netflix "must watch" list. I think Stewart possessed that Universal "every man" quality that makes his performance very accessible to a modern audience.
