I hope that everyone here is as big a fan of Lon Chaney as they are of Dwight Frye on here. Anyways, one of my favorite films is Man of 1,000 Faces with James Cagney portraying Lon Chaney. I've always been thinking if Hollywood would ever consider making another adaptation of Chaney's life. One person that I know could play Chaney is Bryan Cranston. Not only is a fantastic character actor, but he has an uncanny resemblance to Chaney. Just check out the photos below and tell me that they don't look the same. images.wikia.com/breakingbad/images/3/34/Cranston.jpgwww.fun-film-talk.com/images/lon-cheney-is-no-monster-21495348.jpgTell me if I'm crazy or not.

I don't know much about Lon Chaney is all honesty. I have seen Phantom of the Opera, quite a few times and The Hunchback of Notre Dame and the one with the clown that can't quite remember.
When you suggested Brian Cranston as a possible candidate to play Chaney, I wasn't sure. However looking at the photos, I get what you mean.

I'm a huge Lon Chaney fan, what an incredible man he was. I really like the film Man of a thousand faces, James Cagney was wonderful.
I do agree with you, Bryan Cranston actually does look quite like Lon in that photo!
Have you seen the 1930 remake of The Unholy Three? It's not as good as Tod Browning's 1925 version but it is an amazing treat being able to hear Lon Chaney's voice. He gave a fantastic performance.

That'd be kind of interesting. Cranston going from Malcolm's dad to a psychotic chemistry teacher running from the law to Lon Chaney. What a great career path imo! I actually haven't seen it yet. I've been meaning to do so though, at least to hear Chaney's voice.
