I recently saw Let Me In, which is the American remake of the Swedish horror film, Let the Right One In.
What's your guys' opinion on the movie if you've seen it?

I have seen the orignial Swedish version, which I really enjoyed. It had a haunted, ethereal beauty and is quite different to many vampire movies I have seen. I have yet to see the American version. I believe Hammer had something top do with the production, as it also was involved in the recent Woman In Black film.

I think it's one of the best horror movies of this decade!
While people see it as sweet and a great romance, I see it more as a story of manipulation.

I am half way through the book this film is based on "Let the Right One In" by John Ajvide Lindqvist. While I enjoyed the Swedish film, I have to say I am amazed at how much I am enjoying the book. I can hardly put it down and there are a lot more twists and turns than in the Swedish film, though that was beautifully atmospheric. I have yet to see the US version. After the recent Vampire fashion inspired by the "Twilight" series, I thought this would more teenage angst crap, but it isn't.

The Swedish version is a masterpiece. The American version is just a piece. I suspected as much. Have avoided all the remakes of the great non-English language films, with the exception of The Ring and I wish I had avoided that one. I wish Hollywood could really leave other countries stuff alone.
