I am so happy I found this, because I remember it being broadcast in 1996 and it never came on again. The series is called "Nightmare: The Birth of Horror" and each episode looked behind the scenes of four iconic Horror novels, Dracula, Frankenstein, The Hound of the Baskervilles and Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

I think this is the best, most insightfult documentay ever made about the genre and I like Frayling's narration. In the up and coming Universal re-releases I noticed he is doing some of the DVD commentary so clearly knows his stuff.

So far on youtube I found Dracula and The Hound of the Baskervilles. If I find others I shall share.
