After the recent discussion regarding Dwight's possible appearance in "Hustling for Health" in the photo board. I wanted to post a couple of clips.
The first is the clip of "Night Bird" which I posted a while ago. There was no musical soundtrack so there wasn't just silence I posted music to go along with it. The choice may raise an eyebrow or two.
The second is from the Stan Laurel film "Hustling for Health". From the posted photo I was never that convinced this was Dwight but having seen the shot in motion I'm not so sure.
I'm quite surprised and excited to learn that Buddy thought his Dad did appear in more silents though, so who knows where else we could find Dwight.

I love your music choices for "Night Bird", Mrs. V. How handsome Dwight looked in that, and that was the year he married Laura . Oh my gosh, can you imagine Dwight in more silents? What a find !!!!!!!!!!!

What do you think of Hustling for Health? Do we think it's Dwight? The clip is in the first 30 seconds so you don't have to watch the full thing.

I'm not sure it's him either, Mrs. V.

I've watched it several times now and I'm still not sure but I'm leaning more towards no at the moment. It doesn't quite feel right, the face and the build plus I think maybe he looks a little older than 20. It would be so wonderful to have more confirmed Dwight films though. I was really excited when Poplarhouse mentioned that Dwight D. thought his dad may have appeared in more silent films. Apparently Dwight's name is in the liner notes of the DVD. However, one of my copies of The Invisible Man states that Lon Chaney Jr. plays the lead.. so, um.. yeah, perhaps we shouldn't put too much faith in that. lol

Is Night Bird a lost film?

Nightbird is not a lost film, but it is hard to get a hold of. The copy I managed to get didn't have any soundtrack at all, so it is quite difficult to hold ones attention. I have considered uploading it in its entireity onto youtube, but these days I don't have the time.
However if you are aftre some rarer films ioffer has an interesting collection.

Just watched through HUSTLING FOR HEALTH and I don't really think there's a possibility that that is Dwight. Dwight would've been, if I do my math correctly, around my age (20) in 1919, and that man looks a wee bit older than 19-20. Also, I had trouble spotting Dwight in THE NIGHT BIRD. Can someone help me out?

I would love to see Dwight in another silent film, particularly a horror film. It'd be interesting to see Dwight act completely through pantomime.

Apparently Buddy thought there was a chance Dwight did work in some silents, so maybe another will be found, one of these days. liz, he's in the doorway at the end.

Those silent films will be like the London After Midnight of silent films to us.
