I love his quote about starting at the top and working his way to the bottom. He was self critical at times, which made him all the more likeable to me. He was a genius I agree!

I do like the horror genre, though I have to be in the mood to watch a horror film and I have seen all three of the movies that you mentioned, Matilda. I'll give you a personal, brief opinion about each one. Paranormal Activity: Slow to get into but once it got going genuinely creepy- depending on which ending you watch- which is important if you watch the sequel. Found the main guy a bit annoying and his girlfriend whining is name constantly grated on my nerves but an ok horror, not as #good as Blair Witch though. Hostel: Wasn't a fan. Story wise it was an ok idea but I found it rather disgusting and not my cup of tea. I ythink my Hubby liked it at the time though, reminded him and his brother of their video nasty youth. The Strangers: Again ok, tried to be creepy rather than gory which always scores highly with me. A bit bleak in some respects, which I sometimes don't mind. Not that original though, felt as if it had been done before but that's possibly because I had seen the German film, Funny Games, the day before I watched The Strangers. I can't think of the last, truly scary film I watched, recently saw Wolf Creek which made me a bit uneasy. As I said I can really get the chills from creepy films rather than gory. I find it difficult to watch Nosferatu alone and that's nearly 90 years old. Thank you for this Mrs. V. Will be putting up my views on those films later today or next week ;D Having seen Paranormal activity, I was impressed. The ending was the one with him slamming into the camera and her close-up. Is that the right one for the sequel? Haven't seen it...Creepy cool.

Sounds like it. There are three alternative endings. the one that I saw and was the cinema version was the woman is shot by the police after murdering her bf, the second one I saw was she slits her own throat after murdering her bf and I never saw the third which relates to the sequel and therefore got me confused when i actually came to watching it.

Hope to see paranormal activity 2 soon. Yeah, my version that I saw was not either of the ones you described. Creepier.
I would also like to recommend Hostel 2. MUCH better than Hostel. The guy from the TV show the Sentinal is a bad guy in it which was major weird for me. Bijou Phillips is also in it (McKenzie from One Day At a TIme's sister, Papa John's daughter). Still not Oscar material but better than the first.

Halloween is my all time favorite horror film! The direction, the cinematography, the framing, the lighting, the story, the acting and of course the score! To me, it's a nearly flawless horror classic! It builds up the creepiness and the dark atmosphere so much that it becomes like a sweet candied treat to the viewer!
